This year has been unexpected in so many ways, and some days it’s hard to feel grateful for anything. Trips have been canceled. Major milestones have been celebrated over Zoom. Grief, fear, sadness and uncertainty are common feelings that can weigh you down and make it difficult to see the good that might still be there.
Now more than ever it is important to search out reasons for gratitude. Countless studies show that a habit of gratitude is better for your physical and mental health, as well as those around you. Simply finding one or two small things for which to be grateful can transform the way you see this strange new world. And expressing gratitude has the added benefit of helping make others around you feel better as well.
Join alumna and Wake Washington Executive Director Jennifer Richwine ('93) for a fun and interactive discussion on why a habit of gratitude matters, how to be grateful in hard times, how to go into this very different holiday season with gratitude in mind, and then some very practical tips for writing powerful thank you notes and making note writing a habit. Jennifer is the author of "With Gratitude: The Power of a Thank You Note".
