What do handmade bonnets, the Marquis de Lafayette, and a piously ambitious woman have to do with the founding of Wake Forest? Everything, as it turns out!
Join Mary Tribble ('82, MA '19), Senior Advisor for Engagement Strategies at Wake Forest University, for some little-known Wake Forest history! Mary’s ties to Wake Forest run deep, including her great-great-great-great grandfather Samuel Wait who founded the college and her great uncle Harold Tribble who later served as President. Mary will present a talk on her upcoming book on the untold story of Samuel's wife, Sarah (Sally) Merriam Wait, followed by a lively Q & A. Celebrate homecoming week and come hear the behind-the-scenes story of one of the most important women in Wake Forest's history.
