UPDATE: We will be collecting items for Fauquier FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help), in support of Wake Forest Pro Humanitate Days 2022! FISH is starting a gift card program for baby formula, and we are asking all who can bring a gift card from a grocery store, drug store or big box store to support their need. All attendees who bring a gift card in any amount will receive their first drink on Mother, So Dear!
Join your DMV-area alumni at Powers Farm & Brewery in Midland, VA - a favorite of ’93 Alum Laine Thomas Conway - anytime between 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, April 3rd. We will have picnic tables set aside for our Wake Forest group (if there is inclement weather, we will gather in the Barrel House). The place is dog-friendly, and welcoming of all ages - kids particularly seem to love to chase the chickens, and there’s plenty of room to run. There will be a food truck onsite, and everyone can have their own tabs, so you can stop by for a quick hello or enjoy the afternoon!
More about Powers Farm & Brewery: At this hidden gem just outside Warrenton, you can enjoy beer or kombucha on a working farm that includes a 2.5 barrel brewhouse and small, on-site taproom. You’ll find classic styles of beer that weave in unique, farm-grown ingredients. All of the produce and hops are grown on the property as well. They brew a new recipe weekly and the lineup is constantly rotating, usually turning over completely every two months or so.
We hope to make this "DC Deacs Day Trip" a series. Our plan is to gather a few times a year in local spots outside the city and across Virginia and Maryland to give everyone a taste of the great spots that pepper our region. So, if you live outside the Beltway or are itching for an afternoon road trip out of the city, please let us know if you have a great spot in mind for our next day trip!
