One of Wake Forest’s oldest traditions is its annual Moravian Lovefeast. Lovefeasts nourish the soul, give us pause and inspire. They transport us to sacred realms and add beauty to our often complicated lives. Wake Forest’s Annual Lovefeast can be captured in a single word – love.
You are invited to gather to experience the magic of the Wake Forest Lovefeast at the Local Lovefeast gathering in Swannanoa. Wake Foresters in your community will come together to watch the live stream of the Lovefeast from Wait Chapel and participate simultaneously with the campus community. Moravian Lovefeast buns, coffee, and traditional red-frilled beeswax candles will be provided to bring your Local Lovefeast to life. Please register no later than November 30.
Directions: As soon as you turn onto Hidden River Drive, keep to your right, as there are three immediate choices of drives on this gravel road. The road is one way and narrow, so drive slowly. It will curve around and then you'll see a sign for Hidden River Events. Turn right at the sign and park in the field (grass) or wherever the parking attendant directs.
Hidden River is an 18+ acre farm, specializing in weddings and other events. For this Lovefeast, our carriage horse, Dr. Love. will be present after the service to provide carriage rides and we'll have a bonfire with hot chocolate for those who wish to stay and enjoy the sunset.
The tent is heated and on a concrete pad. Wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly for the bonfire and carriage rides. People with disabilities can be driven directly to the tent venue.
